Aaron Clapperton (he/him) is a dynamic and multidisciplinary queer performer, actor, theatre-maker, and pre-professional tap dancer based on Treaty 13 and Williams Treaty territory, recognized as Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. He has been performing for 18 years, beginning as a recreational dancer, then advancing to the competitive level. He's been fortunate enough to be a member of The Pre-Professional Performance Company at the Tap Dance Centre under the direction of Elisa Schembre; even performing in his first ever Eastern Canadian Tap Conference in the fall. Aaron is thankful to have been taught by some of Canada’s leading artists, including Dianne Montgomery, Troy Sexton, Stephanie Graham, Paula Skimin, and many more. He is also an actor and singer whose approach spans contemporary, classical, and musical theatre genres. He has appeared on stage at Soulpepper, Buddies in Bad Times, The Musical Stage Company, Hart House, The LOT, and Toronto Youth Theatre. Drag, collective creation, mask, and clown are also close to Aaron's heart. He continues to stretch his range by working as a choreographer, director, dramaturg, graphic designer, and stage manager. Most recently, he debuted two original works in Toronto, Ly(SIS!!!)trata and Not “Conventionally” Talented.
